FLASH! Torgeir Higraff has resurfaced! After successfully completing his 2023 World Tour of nine countries in two months (including visiting Mount Everest), upon returning home to Norway, he was buried in an avalanche of homework, housework, deferred work, and family work. Finally, I received his long-awaited trip report and summation this week. His observations, in authentic Norwegian English, will be featured in the next installment. Stay tuned. Also, you can expect more excerpts from Kon-Tiki2 as we prepare it for publishing.
And one more thing: Several people have contacted me, pledging financial support if I choose to take TEL into the paid subscriber realm of Substack. Thus far, I have resisted the alluring financial possibilities. Not clear about the reason. Not really philosophical; just lazy, mostly.
However, I will dip a small toe into the financial waters by introducing a new feature - new to me, anyway - called Buy Me A Coffee. Those of you reading this who are so inclined are invited and welcomed to painlessly send your financial largess to me in coffee-sized increments. (This is assuming that I have created my account there correctly and that I can figure out how to embed the coffee link in this article.)
Warning: If this revenue stream starts to create too many tax issues for my team of accountants, or if my son and wife introduce conflict into my domestic tranquility because they cannot agree on which continent to spend our summer holiday… then they attempt to manipulate me to select their preferred itinerary, or if I just get confused, I may cancel the whole damn thing…
But for now, thanks very much for all the encouragement and support and maybe financial support.

SORRY. THIS CUTE BUTTON IS NOT WORKING THE WAY I VISUALIZED. MAYBE NEXT TIME.
